Star Rejects Anti-Vaxxer Stance Following Narrating Disputed Covid Documentary

The "Taken" star has lent his vocal talents to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the efficacy of immunizations and praises one-time health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Film's Contentious Basis

Named "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is adapted from a well-known publication co-authored by a disgraced researcher, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for claims that Covid was a result of a problematic version of the seasonal immunization.

The book's writing partner, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with conspiracy-prone figure a known commentator. Heckenlively wrote online hailing Neeson's participation in the project.

An Unequivocal Statement

The team of Liam Neeson have issued a response pushing back against implications that he holds anti-immunization sentiments.

"Everyone can acknowledge that misconduct may occur within the pharmaceutical industry, but that should never be conflated with being against vaccines," the response states. "Liam has never been, and remains not, against vaccines. His long work with Unicef highlights his consistent support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

It noted that the actor did not shape the project's editorial content and that concerns about its claims should be directed to the creators.

Major Themes Within the Documentary

In the film, the narration read by Neeson includes several controversial statements:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "complete compliance" to health authorities.
  • It posits that "research has become dangerously politicised."
  • RFK Jr is shown stating, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they are not safely tested."
  • The narration further attacks Covid lockdowns, claiming they caused severe distress that cost thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of pandemic shots, it mentions a report that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Historical Context and Ongoing Disputes

The documentary includes a historical film about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the focus of a BBC apology by the network for violations of guidelines.

Recently, Kennedy called on the CDC to alter its official position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is repeated in the documentary, even with a recent study from the World Health Organisation confirming no evidence has been found.

A Previous Statement of Advocacy

Standing in contrast to the documentary's tone, Neeson has previously voiced firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible triumph," stating that "The conversation about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."

The documentary ends with Neeson's voice saying, "This is not the end of our journey. It is the beginning of a fresh chapter."
