Real Madrid acquired Trent Alexander-Arnold on a multi-year contract

Trent Alexander-Arnold's recovery is advancing smoothly, giving hope that the Real Madrid defender could be fit in time to confront his former club Liverpool in November's Champions League tie.

The 27-year-old international experienced a hamstring problem while playing against Ligue 1 club Marseille in the initial phase of the competition on September 16.

Alexander-Arnold was forced off the pitch in the early stages, with initial indications indicating a possible layoff of around six weeks.

Real Madrid will travel to visit Liverpool on November 4 for the Champions League match—just seven weeks after the incident took place.

Sources familiar with the player's condition state that the player's healing process is progressing positively, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold may make his initial return to Liverpool's stadium since moving to Real Madrid in the summer.

A longtime Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold previously remarked that leaving the team he entered as a six-year-old youth player was the "hardest choice he has ever made."

During his spell with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold notched over 350 appearances, contributing to win two Premier League titles, a Champions League, and the domestic cup.

Since his transfer to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has played on five occasions across various tournaments, totaling over two and a half hours of game time.
