Jurgen Klopp states a return to manage Liverpool is theoretically possible.

The German coach, who left Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that returning someday remains a possibility. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful nine-season tenure featuring a European Cup triumph and the Reds’ first league title for three decades, has since taken on positions in a global football capacity with the Red Bull group and providing guidance with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

Liverpool won England's top flight in the previous campaign, though countless followers who revere Klopp would be thrilled by the notion of his potential comeback. Speaking candidly, he told Steven Bartlett: “I declared I will never coach another team in England. So that means should it be the Reds...absolutely. In theory, it could happen.”

“Being 58, that means I might decide down the line, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. Fortunately, no such pressure exists. I'll wait and observe how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

When asked about the specific conditions would need to occur to draw him back to the dugout, he confessed he isn't eager for a comeback. “I don’t even know exactly, I love what I do right now,” he said. “I don’t miss coaching; I don’t miss standing in the rain through long matches; I'm glad to skip interviews repeatedly each week or having 10-12 interviews a week.

“The locker room isn't missed as a dressing room, however, dining out with the team having a nice chat, that’s nice. We won a lot of games thus frequently great spirits at the club. I still have the captain's chuckle in my ear for example.”

Praise for His Successor

Klopp was full of praise regarding Arne Slot, crediting him for the adjustments that took the title last term. The team has suffered four in a row in all competitions post heavy investment, but he rubbished the suggestion it could be a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward like Florian Wirtz, you will all eat your words if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. The French striker, superb talent. This is a well-built balanced team. You don’t have to worry about Liverpool, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

He shared movingly about the death of Jota, a player he signed during his tenure, and its impact for the team. The Portugal international was killed in a road accident together with his sibling recently.

“Who can fill the void of such an individual? It’s not about his footballing ability, it’s the guy he was. I can’t imagine the squad missing him. Putting it into words is tough on this topic. It was an incredible shock for the entire squad also. Not a single person will ever use it to justify results yet it's the reality. You walk in a dressing room where he was omnipresent. Coping with it individually is not easy. Impossible.”
