British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health follows the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the star in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
