Week 10 again delivered, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that attracts so many fans into the NFL

That result may have opened things up for the Patriots to move back into a leading position they formerly held, with a schedule that provides them an edge over their 8-2 competitors

Over in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash next week, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award

Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen attempt too much or was it just a poor performance for the Bills?

Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs last week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Bills to address

The Buffalo squad had won seven in a row against Miami but were outperformed from the beginning as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and performance

MVP Josh Allen only got the squad's initial first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the final quarter - admittedly the Dolphins had 10 days to prepare but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the league's best offenses

Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but running back Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 total yards and two touchdowns

Containing the league's best running game was crucial too, with James Cook and teammates registering just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the season and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5-yard average

Then there were the three crucial turnovers, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the scoring area resulting in a nine-minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter fumble that Miami turned into seven points just two plays

It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - rather than the composed, disciplined, balanced Bills we've witnessed this year

The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this year so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are quietly moving into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East

In Focus - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Regarding the Patriots, they're among three different eight and two teams in the league, all American Football Conference teams, but could they be the best?

One could find flaws in the Patriots, the Broncos and the Colts really for feasting on the weaker opponents, with just five of their total twenty-four wins achieved against teams with a winning record - and one of those was the Indianapolis beating the Broncos

The Broncos defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can ride Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their prime time win in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration

Their pair of losses came in new head coach Mike Vrabel's initial three games, with seven consecutive wins, similar to Denver, from that point - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was significant

Drake Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he definitely deserves credit for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa but persevering to guide his team to success

The defensive unit is reliable and rookie running back Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exciting touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth runner to exceed 22mph this year on his first score

Although you can debate who 'the best' is statistically, the Patriots should be favourites to finish with the top record due to their schedule - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, although a huge one against Buffalo

Traveling to Baltimore is also tough, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Chargers (who could also challenge for first place but encounter the same problem) and also the Green Bay on the fixture list

The Colts also face the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two games with the five and four Jacksonville to contend with. There is a long way to travel but the opportunity is available for a surprise top seed in the American Football Conference

Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Next Week Showdown

Both squads with solid claims to be superior to all of the three 8-2 sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Rams, who each scored 40 burgers to reach 7-2 ahead of next week's Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the pair in LA

They've both won four in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up fewer than twenty points a contest

Both could realistically be undefeated as too - particularly the Rams as their two defeats came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning kick with the last kick blocked and run back by the Eagles for a score

The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are genuinely two of the top teams in the NFL

The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date
