Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window

A plane ferrying the US defense secretary was required to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the plane's windshield, per an official announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.

"The plane landed following standard protocol and all passengers, such as Secretary Hegseth, is safe," an official representative said in a online announcement.

He was traveling back from a brief trip to the Belgian capital at the time.

This incident does not mark the first time that a United States armed forces jet carrying a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.

In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to head back to Washington after suffering a mechanical fault.
